Partner Sean Cooney included in Workers’ Rights Institute panel

 

Dolce Panepinto partner, Sean Cooney continues to fight for the rights of former NFL cheerleaders here in WNY.

Friday, February 26 he will be joining a panel hosted by Georgetown Law’s Workers’ Rights Institute, to discuss legal issues showcased within the documentary, “A Woman’s Work: The NFL’s Cheerleader Problem.”

The documentary, produced and directed by Yu Gu, features Cooney and his work on exposing abusive working conditions ,unfair pay, and gender inequality within the Buffalo Jills organization.

The panel will talk about many issues highlighted in the film including: wage theft, workers organizing, and labor protection for women.   The hope is for viewers and participants to explore new ways to strengthen workers rights collectively, in their workplace and communities.

Moderators for the discussion are Mark Gaston Pearce, Visiting Professor and Executive Director, Georgetown Law’s Workers’ Rights Institute and Jamillah Bowman Williams, Professor and Workers’ Rights Institute Faculty Director, Georgetown Law.
